In August, I completed an online certification course on Climate Change, Peace and Security: Understanding Climate-Related Security Risks Through an Integrated Lens by the United Nations Climate Change: e-Learn program. It was a fruitful and exciting learning experience for me as it relates to my broader dissertation research of Environmental Justice and Sustainability. The course provided me with a more profound understanding of how climate change interacts with conflict and security issues, especially through a gender-responsive and socially inclusive lens. It enabled me to analyze climate-related security risks affecting vulnerable groups and gave me ideas for designing integrated policies and interventions that address climate change, peacebuilding, and social equity simultaneously. This knowledge will significantly enhance my ability to contribute to creating sustainable and peaceful environmental solutions in my work as I proceed with my research.
