My name is Shankar. I am a third-year PhD student in Rhetoric and Writing Studies (RWS) at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). At UTEP, apart from being a doctoral student, I am working as an instructor of Technical Writing, RWS 3359. I taught First-Year Composition for three semesters from 2022–2023. I also worked as a graduate consultant at the University Writing Center (UWC) for a year and coordinated the Workshop Committee at UWC. In the summer of 2022, I worked with the School of Nursing at UTEP as a PhD Research Associate.
I am a permanent resident of Biratnagar, Nepal. I have completed my M. Phil (Interdisciplinary English) from Institute of Advanced Communication, Education, and Research (IACER), Pokhara University in 2017 and MA (Sociology) from Tribhuvan University in 2015.
My research and teaching interests are more related to Environmental Humanities, Environmental Historiography, Rhetoric and Composition, Digital Humanities, Multimodal Composition, and Technical Communication. I have also been involved in writing text books on Science, English, Moral Studies, and हाम्रो सेरोफेरो based on the Nepali curriculum for several publications since 2013.
I am associated with South Asian Foundation for Academic Research (SAFAR- https://www.safarsouthasia.org/2022/02/08/shankarpaudel/) as Academic Counsellor and Center for Advanced Studies in South Asia (CASSA- www.cassanepal.org) as Digital Consultant, and also involved in various projects including anthology publication, documentary making and etc.
